Real output, unedited

Produced end-to-end by SweetCutter from one real long video — “Dance Your Weight Away: 10-Minute Afro Dance Workout!” by Lady Emma on YouTube (13:22), shared under a Creative Commons Attribution license. Nothing was hand-picked or re-edited afterwards. Every score shows its breakdown — no black box.

Honest note: YouTube served the demo source at 360p, so these clips look softer than output from your own full-quality uploads. SweetCutter picks moments by transcribing speech, so on a music-driven workout like this one the picks anchor on the coached, spoken stretches — timings and picks are exactly what the tool produced. Low scores stay visible, with their reasons.

Everything a clip needs, in one pass

The cutting pipeline — transcription, moment scoring with full breakdowns, burned-in captions in every export size — is live today, and so are the Studio editor, silence & filler removal, B-roll, brand templates and the API below. The few features still badged Coming soon are in active development for the beta: join at the locked founding price and they land in your workspace as they ship.

Speaker-tracking reframeComing soon

Wide footage is reframed to 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9 with the active speaker tracked and kept in frame — no manual cropping, no lost faces.

Word-by-word captionsComing soon

Animated captions highlight each word as it is spoken, in your video's own language, with styles you can restyle per clip or save as a brand template.

Translation & AI dubbingComing soon

Translate captions into other languages, or dub the clip's speech with AI voice — one source video becomes a version per market.

Silence & filler removal

Dead air, long pauses and filler words are cut from the transcript in one click, tightening pacing before you ever open the timeline.

AI B-roll

Cutaway visuals are matched to what is being said and laid over the clip at the right moments, so talking-head footage never looks static.

Text + timeline editor

Studio edits by text — delete a sentence and the cut follows — with a full timeline for trims, caption styling, watermarks and outros when you need frame-level control.

XML exportComing soon

Hand any clip to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve as an XML project — cuts, captions and timing intact — and finish it in your own editor.

API & automations

A REST API with self-serve keys lets you cut clips from a spreadsheet, a form, or any pipeline you already run — submit and track jobs from your own tools.

Brand templates

Save caption styles, your logo, a watermark and an end card once; every clip from every video comes out on-brand automatically.

How it works

1 · Paste a long-video link

A talk, podcast episode, stream or tutorial — a YouTube link, in the box at the top of this page. Or upload your own file as a member.

2 · We find and score the moments

Your video is transcribed and every candidate moment is scored on hooks, emotion and pacing. No black box: each clip comes with the reasons it was picked.

3 · Post-ready 9:16 clips

Vertical clips with big burned-in captions land in My clips and in your email — ready to download or upload to Shorts, TikTok or Reels.

Source videosUp to 2 hours long. YouTube videos are fetched at the highest quality available up to 720p; files you upload yourself are processed at their original quality — the export size is the canvas, not the source resolution
Monthly quota30 long videos per month, up to 3 Shorts from each. Unused video slots roll over for 1 month: your balance can build up to 60 (30 monthly + up to 30 rolled over). Rolled-over slots are used first and expire at the end of the month they land in; only unused base slots roll on — credit never compounds.
CaptionsBurned-in captions in your video's own language — speech is auto-detected and transcribed (the transcription model supports 100 language codes; English is tested end-to-end, other languages depend on the source audio quality). Captions are not translated. Word-by-word animated caption styles are coming soon.
Translation & dubbingComing soon — caption translation into other languages and AI-voice dubbing are in development

Questions, answered plainly

What is SweetCutter and how does it pick the moments?

SweetCutter turns one long video into ready-to-post Shorts. It transcribes the video, then scores every candidate moment with explainable heuristics — opening hooks, emotion, pacing, whether the moment starts and ends on complete sentences, and transcript confidence. Every clip comes with its full score breakdown, so you can see why it was picked.

How much does SweetCutter cost?

The founding beta is $19/month, subscribed via Gumroad, and the founding price is locked for beta members.

Can I try SweetCutter for free first?

Yes. Use the free sample cut form at the top of this page: give your email and a link to one of your long YouTube videos, and one Short is cut from it with the same pipeline and delivered to your email. No account and no payment are needed.

How fast will I get my clips?

Your clips are delivered to My clips and by email. The pipeline is automated and samples are picked up first — most arrive within about 15 minutes. Founding beta members get priority processing.

Can I edit a clip after it is cut?

Yes. Every clip opens in Studio — a text + timeline editor where deleting a sentence from the transcript moves the cut — with one-click silence and filler cuts, B-roll and brand templates built in. If you don't touch it, every clip is still delivered finished and ready to post; XML project export for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve is the one editing feature still in development.

Can SweetCutter translate or dub my clips?

Not yet — caption translation and AI-voice dubbing are in development and will join the beta as they ship. Today captions stay in your video's own language; transcription itself supports 100 language codes, and quality depends on the source audio.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions run through Gumroad, and you can cancel there at any time. After cancelling, your access continues until the end of the current paid period — Settings shows your exact status and end date.
